The Unique Student Identifier website has now gone live

The Unique Student Identifier website has now gone live. The USI is a reference number made up of numbers and letters that gives students access to their USI account.

A USI will allow an individual's USI account to be linked to the National Vocational Education and Training (VET) Data Collection allowing an individual to see all of their training results from all providers including all completed training units and qualifications.

The USI will make it easier for students to find, collate and authenticate their VET achievements into a single transcript. It will also ensure that students' VET records are not lost.

The USI will be available online and at no cost to the student. This USI will stay with the student for life and be recorded with any nationally recognised VET course that is undertaken from when the USI comes into effect.

Latest Post from the VET Reform Taskforce

A post from the VET Reform Taskforce

On 25 June 2014, Minister for Industry, the Hon. Ian Macfarlane MP released new draft provider and regulator standards for consultation.

The new draft standards address one of the three priority actions agreed by Australian, state and territory skills ministers at the COAG Industry and Skills Council meeting on 3 April 2014, to re-examine the draft training provider and regulator standards produced by the former office of the National Skills Standards Council (NSSC).

The new draft standards take into account a range of stakeholder views including issues raised during the broader VET reform consultation process undertaken in early 2014. The new draft standards are available here.

The Department of Industry welcomes comments on the new draft standards via email to vettaskforce@industry.gov.au until 23 July 2014. In addition, a series of webinars is planned in July.

The first webinar will be an information session on 3 July 2014. This will be followed by two interactive webinars where you can ask questions and provide feedback on 15 and 16 July. Details on how to register is available here.

Minister Macfarlane released the new draft standards during his keynote address to the National Skills Summit, hosted by the Australian Council for Private Education and Training and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  More information about the Minister’s keynote address is available on the VET reform website.

TAELLN411 News - Do not be scammed

If you hold the TAELLN401 unit of competency you do not need to upgrade to the TAELLN411.

This is because IBSA (Innovation & Business Skills Australia) has deemed that the units are equivalent.

Do not be scammed by unethical providers into purchasing "upgrade kits."  You can verify this information on the Australian Government Website

We can provide you with a Statement of Attainment for the TAELLN411 for a nominal fee of $50 to cover administrative costs.  We want to make sure you understand that this is totally unnecessary.

Please contact our student support to obtain the TAELLN411 Statement of Attainment.

If you are new to the TAELLN411 or Adult Language Literacy and Numeracy training then visit our website for honest and ethical information and course fees you can afford.

We conduct the TAELLN411 or Adult Language Literacy and Numeracy course online by distance education.  This means you choose your study hours, and you can access the course from anywhere in the world via the Internet.

At the successful completion of the unit, you will receive a nationally recognized statement of attainment.

Students of Safecity's TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment receive special concessions for this unit.

However the TAELLN411 or Adult Language Literacy and Numeracy is also available as a standalone unit of competency, so you do not need to be enrolled in our TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to undertake the training for the standalone unit.

Safecity's OpenLearning Network is a well established ethical RTO with over 18 years of service as a Registered Training Provider.  We will never compromise training standards for commercial reasons and for this reason our certificates are respected by employers.

Why take risks by purchasing "easy" qualifications and by taking short cuts?  Your professional integrity and efficiency depends on the quality of the training you receive at ground level.

Be a proud professional vocational trainer.  Learn with us!

Safecity Openlearning Network also offers the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment by open learning distance education.
